These past few months, I’ve been focusing on practicing self-care and self-love.
Whether it’s by carving out time to stretch, preparing a healthy meal, putting on a face mask, taking a walk, reading a book, and more, I’ve tried my best to prioritize caring for and loving myself.
However, some days, I’m unintentionally hard on myself.
For example, one day, I’ll go all out by stretching, putting on a face mask, preparing a healthy meal, and reading a book. Other days, I only get myself to have a glass of water or step out into the front patio for a breath of fresh air.
I’ve found that on the days I do little compared to other days, I can’t help but feel like I should have done more.
A few weeks back, on one of those days, where I was unintentionally hard on myself, my husband shared a few words of encouragement. It helped me realize I was too fixated on how much I was giving, rather than noticing I’m still giving something. He left me with words, “Measure what matters.” and it stuck with me.
Whatever it is that you’re focusing on, practicing, and pursuing, know that whatever you give, whether 1% or 100%, is plenty. Your continued efforts are what matter as it’s shaping whatever you’re building.
This is key, because when you keep at it, you have a momentum going. One thing leads to another.
But if you don’t have a lot to give, which can lead to you feeling like you don’t want to give anything until you’re at a 100%, it can break the momentum, and result in long periods of stagnation.
It’s better to give something, in whatever way you know how or can, whenever possible, rather than nothing at all.
With Love,
Jasmine
One thing I’ve been loving the last few weeks is Nature’s Sunshine Collagen Powder! It not only helps skin, hair, and nails, but bones, joints, and gut health (happy gut = happy brain!). I appreciate that it has a source of protein and an electrolyte blend in it as well.
I’m enjoying cycle syncing for hormonal balance. It was pretty overwhelming to begin with, but now I simply pick 2-3 foods items for each phase from a cycle sync chart I googled, and it still helps! Particularly, I enjoy the teas for each phase (Menstrual: red raspberry leaf tea; Follicular: nettle tea; Ovulatory & Luteal: dandelion root tea and burdock root tea).
Christmas is around the corner and I’m taking advantage by watching all the cozy feel-good Christmas movies, Home Alone (1 & 2), The Santa Claus (1, 2, & 3), Elf, and so on.
